today was an exceptional day.. cuz my P actually said since I'm so tied down with work, he's gg to get another HOD to be the SCC. Wad did i do to receive this 大恩大德? i almost couldn't believe my ears!

the other day i watched The Bucket List. It's a story abt 2 old men who realised they are down with cancer. after slogging out almost 40years of their lives, they suddenly are left with onli 6 to 12 mths to live...so it's either they choose to spend the rest of their time in hospital with loads of medicine n surrounded by crying family members, or they can go n do the wildest things they can ever think of doing.. n they chose the latter. one of them died 1st, but he died kinda peacefully i think.. acceptance.. the other one lived a while longer.. n he managed to complete the list. it is a veri simple yet touching story. reminds me of the time i spent at the cancer centre.. it was also a place full of despair.. many of them couldnt accept their condition.. n u see them getting weaker n weaker as the months go past.. the chemo section was worse.. a whole stretch of patients having medicine pumped through their body as they laid there, bored with aching or stiff body.. most of them detest having to go through it. some even rather die than do chemo..
but strangely, some of the better times i had there were when i was talking to them. it makes my day if i managed to make one of them just a little less unhappy. also, once in a while i'd meet someone who is really optimistic. veri positive attitude towards life. it will also give me lots of motivation. if even they can live so vibrantly, there's no excuse for me not to!

long weekend is over... wad a weekend.. but ytd i fell sick.. cuz ate too much on sunday.. but office ppl seem to think its funny when i tell them "i ate too much n got sick..." -_- haha.. but yea i love high tea. XD

anyway, it's nice to fall (just a little) sick once in a while, bcuz i get to take mc, and sleep in late.. and everyone will be especially nice to me :) but the bad thing is throughout the day i get calls from office "Lilian where is this, what is that?" haiz.. and today opened my mail, 47 mails!!! abt 5 from boss.. zzzz..

anyways, last friday i went to east coast's Big Splash.. Nothing at all leh!! so much hoo-haa, even put fireworks.. Boring de lo! Nthg to do at all... yet there was A LOT of ppl there, mostly families with their kids, some cute but mostly irritating =p think Sg parents have aleadi ran out of places to bring their kids to.. then went to watch Horton hears a Who by Dr Seuss. It is really very nice!! I like the story.. and their punchline "A person is a person, no matter how small". the whole story is just so simple and touching n funny. I think i laughed as hard as the little ang mo kid sitting in front of me.. haha.

y cant i be an author, who draws children stories.. and come up with bizarre and funny little tales like Dr Seuss.. and those Nightmare b4 Xms, Corpse Bride etc... n everyone juz loves it.. so cool.. of cuz i must be really good at drawing.. pen touch paper and a character juz creates itself out of ink..

yea keep on dreaming girl. u cant even draw a proper circle. T_T

keep hearing who found new job, who who quitted in search of better jobs. and i got my bonus.. shit it is peanuts lo!! i expected more.. >_< anyway, got my bonus le.. next one is in july.. still so far away.. think it will be good time to quit soon.. but i am held back by the nice aunties in the office who always feed me, weird teachers who always make me laugh, and boss's once-in-a-blue-moon random kindness to me. How?

I am one confused girl here. >_<

this week has been a terrible week.. sigh but it's ending soon.. cant wait >_<

some interesting things in sch..
our gardener, who's really good with plants, grew some sweet potatoes and gave his harvest to the office! he is realli good.. so mrs K cooked porridge with the sweet potatoes.. so sweet of her! n so nice of uncle!

n then today this small little p1 kid came n, red watery eyes and sniffing away. asked him wad happened and he replied "i fell down.." so pitiful lidat.. so i brought him into sick bay n ask him to show me where is the scab.. in the end.. didnt even scratch his skin lo.. onli a bit reddish.. haha so cute.. so i juz put some antiseptic n put a plaster to make him feel better. he is soooo cute n tiny! lolz..

juz now we had a pre-syf concert.. where all the performing groups performed their syf pieces.. there were malay dance, indian dance, chi dance, choir, co, harmonica, angklung etc.. it's realli a good idea to have this pre-syf concert... gives the children a chance to perform to an audience b4 the actual competition.. they practised so hard.. also let parents to have a chance to watch their children's performance.. n so can see how the other cca groups are doing.. n it showcases the school's talents. after watching them, i suddenly feel very proud of our school... hope they can get wonderful results in syf~!

i bot a mint green psp >_< am guilty of spending too much.. i promise to stop gg out for dinners and onli eat at home or at most kopitiams from now on! actualli i do spend quite a lot on food.. cm was saying recently i dun go coffeshops anymore.. only wan to go restaurants like sakae sushi etc. even though each meal may not be a lot, but if i do that everyday, it will add up to a huge amt.. so i muz 'jian2 tao3 jian2 tao3' (reflect) and try to change this bad habit!!

i got a really good explanation for my spenthrift behaviour one lor.. cuz everyday i drag myself to work.. den finally finish work le.. i juz wanna reward my tired self with some good food ma~ sigh but dats no reason to indulge myself in food that costs more than its real worth.. :( okok.. i muz find food dats good n cheap.. value for money!

speaking of food, i realli like the chilli crabs at casuarina road.. the stretch of shops wif the prata place and chinese hawker.. last one down the row of shops.. it is very very good~! :)

the latest hottest gadget to haf in town.. psp! almost everyone has one nowadays... i recently bought it as v day gift for cm.. and now i feel like buying one for myself too.. but i juz bot a new hp~ and a new hard disk~ do i realli haf the money to spend?? haiz.. but realli feel like buying one cuz hard to always share wif him.. how how how..? ~~>_<~~

argh.. recently juz dun haf the mood to work.. mabe bcuz of the rain... or mabe it's the march hols.. i juz cant settle down at work~! but i tried to clear some work during this quiet period...

our VP has left our sch to go for her studies to become a P.. she is so capable.. she has been working in MOE since when i was only 5 yrs old! and now she is becoming a P.. and she is the most beautiful boss i've ever seen! she's really tall, with long legs, and she dresses very well too. sigh my role model...

unlike me.. i'm juz an average girl.. nv was good at anything in particular.. and nv pretty.. in fact i think i'm ugly >_< i dun mind not being very smart, but in the working world, being average is juz not enough.. u need to be really quick n smart and good and eloquent..and it doesnt hurt to have a pretty face.. but none of them fits me..

and everyone else is talking abt finding a job which fits their passion or interests.. but i dun have any passion!! neither do i know wad i'm interested in.. i juz wan to have a job with pay tt's not too bad, nice colleagues and not too much OT.. to put it simply, juz another average job! i realli dun mind! mabe this whole manager role thingy is juz too big a hat 4 me.. i dun enuff brains to fill it T_T

wad a nice day... aft tuition, went to zy's place to celeb xm's bday.. eat n talk n talk. my fav kind of outing =) then zy showed us a veri cute anime called moyashimon i think.. abt a guy who can see microbes as cute little things.. veri funny..

den went to watch leap years wif cm.. nice show.. with nice plot n nice songs.. veri touching.. but funny how the characters dun age at all even after 12 yrs.. lol.. they put a lot of chim quotes along the movie.. smthg abt one can change his own destiny, or it's in your own hands smthg lidat, another one is abt destiny happens on the path u took to avoid it.. den one more is mervin's nickname now: if u r not too long, i will wait my whole life. and i simply dun understand.. if u aleadi decided to wait ur whole life, den nthg is too long for u rite..? haha mabe got meaning but i juz dun get it ba.. =p

wow... the crowd at IT fair show is realli no joke.. if u got breathing difficulties, u better not step in.

right from the start when cm, his bro n me were in his car, on the way to suntec, there was aleadi a huge jam.. like whole of amk gg to suntec lidat.. den we tot better park shaw tower, shd have more space, but it was full! cannot even go in.. suntec even no need to think.. carpark full too. now it feels like whole of singapore is down at suntec!!! haiz.. so we parked at millenia. then we walked over to the convention halls.. gosh.. so many ppl... from far, everyone seemed to be moving in slow motion.. that is because they really are!! everyone was juz inching forward bit by bit..

so we went in.. me with a bit of hesitation.. afraid of crowds!! as wad i expected, it was super squeezy.. everyone bumping into each other to get pass.. the air was stale and stuffy.. brochures flying everywhere.. we wanted to cover the most of it, so we started walking along the aisles.. like nv ending lidat... so many rows of stalls!! sigh. den still got uupstairs somemore... so we walked upstairs too.. gosh almost puke. n i was having serious cramps.. veri gan kor ah~~!! T_T

i saw some familiar faces there. 1st i saw weilin n her bf(whom they all call polar bear for reasons unknown to me..), haha, but she didnt see us. then we saw jb, cm's close fren, then i even saw the newscaster(correct spelling?) from ch8 news!! aiya newscasters oso need to buy cheap IT stuff ma.. so sua ku for wad right.. zzz...

i managed to buy the portable hardisk i came for.. 160gb for $109, samsung brand.. not bad right? cm bot 100 pcs of dvd-r discs... his bro didnt buy anything in the end. sigh wad a day.. all of us were so tired after the whole thing, legs oso painful due to awkward walking n being stepped on by others... i tell u one father even rolled his baby pram over my feet lo! dat was the best...

juz got myself a new phone today.. as cm was getting a new contract under singtel.. n he aleadi used my sis's contract to buy a new phone.. so i used his to buy a phone.. den when my sis wans to buy she'll use mine haha so confusing.. anywayz.. the phone that both of us bought is LG's Viewty..
it's a very nice phone.. with a 5megapixel camera.. and it's a touch screen phone wif lots of cool features.. but right now, it looks pretty daunting to me.. too many new features! i dunno how to use them.. sobs sobs.. i'm a lazy person who likes to stick to familiar phones.. have been using sony ericsson since when sony and ericsson weren't the same phone name.. until now.. suddenly change phone brand.. not used to it!!! *cries* nvm.. hope i'll get used to it soon! :)

it's tuesday aleadi. whenever it's wednesday i'll feel like time is passing by realli fast.. mid week aleadi~!

so nice of him! so dat nite, me n cm went lo.. they were mostly very good.. the solo pieces were all fantastic too! 1st time watching a harmonica concert and it is really pleasantly surprisingly enjoyable! all except for one girl who was hitting the tamborine and shaker.. she was not following the whole orchestra throughout the concert!! she didn't even keep to the basic beat.. of cuz i'm not a music expert myself. if i were performing i cant say i would not make mistake. but i feel that she shd have tried harder! it was especially obvious when they were playing the song "Under the sea" from Little Mermaid.. the shaker's supposed to give that relaxed feeling.. like u r really at the seaside.. but she was totally off-beat!! the beat was just the most basic beat of "one-two-three-four".. know wad i mean? but she was totally in her own world, shaking her own beat.. throughout the whole song!!! really drag the whole orchestra down. cuz the rest were playing very hard and they sounded great! she spoilt the whole song, the whole concert and my whole evening!! !#$%!! either they need to find someone who is more serious or she really need to think abt wad she had done.. i feel.. i can see the orchestra was putting in a lot of effort. she shd respect them! even tho juz playing the tambourine and the shakers may seem like just an unimportant minor task, but it matters a lot to the songs! if played well, the song will become more lively.. but now not onli does it spoils the song, she also confused her own team members.. the one hitting the drum was confused by her beat.. or her off-beat.. that he had to pause several times to regain the proper rhythm.. if she makes mistakes in between the songs, i'm sure it will be fine.. no one will notice.. but she was off through the whole0 concert... realli got nthg to say..

but if i ignore wad she had done, the concert was really great.. the guest performer Mr Yasuo Watani (if i'm not wrong) may be quite old, but certainly no lacking in his energy n techniques when he blows the harmonica... really impressive performance.. i think the ticket price is charged too low, becuz he is really dat good. he shd be in esplanade, having his own concert n selling tix for $100++.. yep dats how good he is!! my new idol!!

den our sch's kids also put up a perf.. not bad la.. they played very well.. but their instruments sure lose out when compared to nus one.. haha..


then today went to PAYCO's concert at esplanade. it was another wonderful concert.. 1st few songs were quite western, but very very nice.. those by Ky were fantastic!! veri nice!! so proud to be from the same jc n alumni as him! all the songs were very nice.. some of the songs were quite contemporary.. or it sounds so to me la.. but they manage to play it very naturally.. very beautiful.. realli had a great concert..
