finally a sat that i dun haf to go back to work~! Hooray for N-Day! for the past dunno 3 or 4 sats had been burnt by work.. so sad.. so it's good that tml is a public hol, cuz i wouldn't be able to get in even if i wan to. haha
today is such a special day, being 08/08/08, eve of N-day and also the Beijing Olympics games opening. so i muz blog today!
every year my sch will hold some Talent Idol or Singing Idol.. and this yr, i was asked to be the one of the judges! well at first i was a bit apprehensive.. i mean.. i'm not even a teacher.. isn't it weird? but jul said it shd be ok la, so i juz went for it. it turned out quite fun =) the kids were all cute and some were funny.. but it was still rather weird when they introduced me as the sch administrator.. all the kids were so confused, not knowing whether to clap or anything. haha i guess i had enjoyed myself afterall..

1. veri veri nice teochew porridge at hougang.. veri scary lo.. it opens at 6pm.. 5.30pm aleadi got long queue outside!! but they serve very nice n cheap food! got braised duck aka
lor2 ah4, braised pork or lor2 ba4, steam fish and many many more.. we ordered the duck n pork n veges n cuttlefish.. nice n cheap!
eat halfway liao den suddenly felt like taking photo.. haha..
this is at the teppanyaki restaurant at the top of jurong hill, next to jurong birdpark.. the place has got a nice view of shimmering lights from jurong island.. so after dinner u can go outside sit down n chit chat.. not too romantic tho, cuz lots of ppl like to sit there n chat. =p
they've got pepper beef, teriyaki chicken, miso pork, king prawns, scallop, salmon, asparagus etc etc.. quite a good variety n we loved gg there once in a while.. plus the chefs veri hao lian.. when they cook the beef they like to use wine and the fire burst into large flames for a split second. look like very impt part of the cooking but i think they juz showing off. haha! anyway, u muz see the way they cut the king prawns.. veri veri pro one k!! u nv have to peel prawns urself! lolz..
anyway, we ordered pork chicken n cuttlefish.. it comes with some
ah-char or appetizer and ends u off with stir-fry beansprout.. =) yummy
another place tt cm brought me to is this
yong tau foo stall at jalan besar, opposite of New World centre.. it's one of the shophouses along the road.. looks quite old and not very eye-catchy.. but the food is not bad! they serve yong tau foo dry, altho they have soup too if u wan, but i think dry one is more special..
dessert! many others like cheese cakes, tiramisu, ben n jerry's etc, which i love too, but my fav kind if dessert is actually the old-fashioned kind of dessert like black sesame paste, peanut paste, almond paste, gui ling gao, etc etc.. and my fav shop to go to is "记得吃" along Liang Seah Street, which is opp of bugis.. there's a few dessert shops there.. havent tried all of them yet but this is definitely a must go! =)
this is a drink tt nv fails to cheer me up.. thus cm sometimes will buy for me when i'm feeling rotten after work.. =) it's jelly-like drink, so feels very soft and sweet as it goes down ur throat.. haha.. but my sis says the lemon taste reminds her of detergent.. well it's fine to me.. so i guess it's ok haha.. anyway it's very hard to find places selling this drink.. if u know where to buy, let me know! right now we only know 1 petrol station which sells this ..
this is finally not abt food.. but abt our attempt to walk the henderson bridge.. it started veri badly.. we went to bukit timah hill, took wrong turn n walked one big circle and finally reached the Henderson bridge or waves.. den noon liao and sun super glaring.. i felt faint as we finished our water and the was so bright.. so we went back to the car.. zzz and the car was super far.. but still, the bridge was pretty, and i dun mind gg again.. when it's not so hot..
few weeks ago cm won a pair of tickets to the Guiness 9 ball world tour or smthg.. and brought me to watch the semi finals.. basically we watched the pros playing pool and we were on ESPN.. haha.. juz for a few seconds when they screened the audience.. cm's specs' reflections made him looked like an ET.. haha..
altho i am not interested in pool, it's just exciting watching the pros play and it was showed Live on tv.. i enjoyed myself tremendously.. and cm too! =)
